This Tuesday is a dance/holiday party and will be held at Blakelock High School from 1830-2115 hrs. Parents are welcome to join us around 2050 hrs for closing and announcements.
All cadets are to be in apropriate civillian attire (not in uniform).

Happy Holidays: From myself, the staff and SSC we wish everyone a very safe and happy holiday.
Squadron Standdown: No cadets (unless specified on the WRO) from Dec 21 – 9 Jan.
Dance!!! Remember that Tuesday Dec 20th for all of 540’s cadets and one guest each. We will have Candy Grams for sale. Details on the WRO
First Aid Course: Because of how much info is in a typical first aid course we're going to have to go back to two days, kinda. 28 Dec from 1800 - 2100hrs and 29 Dec from 0800 - 2000hrs. See the WRO for details. The Course is now full and I have the following cadets attending: AC Wang, Cpl Miller, Fcpl Wang, LAC Ahmed, Fcpt Hicks, Sgt Junyk, Fsgt Haslett and Miss Westgate. If you haven't done so already please remember to bring your $50.00 payment, you can give it to Captain L Lacombe on Tuesday.

Recruits: Remember to hand in your joining package along with a photo copy of your health card and birth certificate.\
Summer Camp: See Captain Bowser for summer camp info. All summer camp and training applications need to be submitted to Captain Bowser asap.
Duke of Edinburgh Award: A reminder to all cadets who are interested in entering the Duke of Ed Award program, you need to bring your $20.00 registration fee and give it to Captain M Lacombe during the next training night. No Fee – No Registration! Captain M Lacombe will have Duke of Ed brochures available to all cadets who are 14 years and older who would like to join.

Journalism: Any cadets interested in journalism, or who just love to write, please speak to WO1 Wright about an exciting opportunity to write for 540's new online newsletter the "Hawk Talk"!
Instructor’s workshop: This has been rescheduled for Dec 30th. Details on the WRO.
540 Products for Sale: Check out the Website for great 540 product and swag. Everything from water bottles to portfolio’s, do some Christmas shopping and support the squadron at the same time.
Lottery Tickets: As Mr. Haslett mentioned on our last parade night, we will be selling Lottery Tickets soon. Ground school cadets, if you plan to apply for Glider or Power this summer, it is expected that you take at least two lottery ticket books. Cadets are asked to bring their $50.00 cash/cheque for their lottery books this Tuesday. Once the Squadron’s Sponsoring Committee receives the $50.00, you will be given a lottery ticket book to sell to family and friends. Please see the SSC for details. Please remember that selling lottery tickets is not optional. For those of you who have taken lottery tickets, we would like to see a return of stubs by the end of November. If this is an issue, please speak with the SSC directly.
Squadron T-Shirts: Once again we have squadron T-Shirts available.
Registration Fee: Please remember to bring your registration cheque to the SSC. If you have problems with paying the registration fee (ie: you need to pay in installments, etc) please feel free to contact Mr. Dave Haslett directly at:
