New Recruits: Please note that 540 Squadron operates at max capacity. We open a wait list at the end of May and perform an intake once a year in September. There are several other local Air, Army, and Sea Cadet units in the Halton/Peel area that provide a similar experience for new recruits and may have more flexible intake periods.

We’re excited to announce our Spring Field Training Exercise (FTX) taking place from May 9-10, 2026 for Level 1-4 and May 8-10, 2026 for Level 5's! This overnight training weekend will give you the chance to develop key field and survival skills through hands-on activities!

• The sign-up form must be completed by April 28, 2026
• The signed portion of the Warning Order must be submitted through the Permission slip submission link by April 28, 2026, without this, you will NOT be able to attend the FTX. If you can not submit using the link, please bring it to admin to WO2 Yang or to FSgt Faisal NLT April 14th.
This training is considered mandatory for all cadets. Missing FTX will impact promotions and summer training opportunities. If you are unable to attend, you are still required to complete the form and indicate your reason for absence.
This FTX is always one of the most memorable parts of the training year, don’t miss out on the opportunity to learn new skills, push yourself, and have a great weekend with your squadron!

Due to weather and resource constraints at the flying site, there will be no gliding for 540 cadets this Sunday.

Promotions, announcements and so much more!
Parents, guardians, and guests are to be seated by 8:15pm for an 8:30pm start.
6 June: Annual Ceremonial Review
The final parade of the year, the time to put your best foot forward, your best uniform and your best self. We celebrate all the hard work from the training year in a final parade.

Marksmanship activities have returned! Please note that cadets are required to sign up for each individual open shoot event they wish to attend. Certain Sundays will be dedicated to team training, with open shoot days mixed in throughout the training year. Open shoots allow for any cadet to complete their rifle safe handling test then fire the cadet air rifle.

Whether you’re just starting or already know your way around an instrument, everyone who’s willing to practice hard has a place in our band.

When: We rehearse on Fridays from 1800-2130, with some extra practices too.
